Letter To The Editor / Canton Repository While at a fundraiser for the Salvation Army, through the efforts of Builders Exchange of East Central Ohio, I saw performances by two musical groups from GlenOak High School named The Drifters and The Notables. These young adults were outstanding in there performance. Their attire was the epitome of neatness, as well. They are a fine example of our youth today.
In respect to movies and restaurants, so often some of our youth today have no consideration for their fellow man, for example, putting their feet on the seats, which leaves filth for others to sit on. It would be well if they all could pattern themselves after the fine groups that I truly enjoyed from GlenOak High School.
I am sure that the funds will go to good use for the less fortunate.
Thank you to GlenOak High School, The Drifters, The Notables, the Salvation Army and its band, and the Builders Exchange of East Central Ohio.

Miss Meese and Mr. Kieffer,
I just wanted to take a moment to let you both know how fabulous the concert was tonight, how well the students did and what a great job you two did in directing, leading and putting it all together. It was a $40 concert that only cost $3!! Very professional! Superb! Thanks so very much for the hours you gave and the joy I had from you and your students giving to me.
I was still tempted to go up for the Hallelujah Chorus, but alas, I graduated from Timken and not GlenOak! Are you sure I can't be grandfathered in because my daughter sings with you? Ha Ha
God Bless and keep up the great work!!
--Jack Devereaux
Mr. Kieffer
It was so nice seeing you last night at the concert. All of you choirs sang so well. I was not in the Christmas spirit too much before the concert, but last night really helped me get in the mood. I am so glad that I ended up going to see you guys sing.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
--Travis Gulling
Just wanted to say thank you for the out standing concert last night. The Maya Angelou piece was AWSOME!! You guys are truly amazing.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
--Ann
Just a quick note to say the concert was AWESOME. Great Job!! We really enjoyed the evening.
--Janet Burns
Again, I was blown away by the Christmas Concert last night. I thank both of you for all the work with those wonderful students and for really getting us all in the Holiday Spirit.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
--Steve, Monica & Samantha Lytle
We love hearing from you!

Hi, Mary & Brian!
I just wanted to thank you both for the outstanding choral program you both administer at Glenoak. I recently had the privilege of hearing the Drifters at Forest Hill Cemetery. (I lost my mother in September after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's.) As always, the group was highly polished and professional, disciplined (far too mature to be high school students), with beautiful blend, balance, expression and tone quality, impeccable diction and unbelievable intonation.
Speaking for those of us in mourning, I can assure you everyone there was moved. Their performance meant more to me than you could know - certainly as much as a somewhat earlier generation that serenaded me all afternoon as I subbed on the last day before Christmas break, ending with "The Lord Bless You" just as the final bell rang. (I will never ever forget that.)
I received a significant raise from Lakeland and my church job at North Canton Zion UCC pays me obscenely well, so I haven't had the need to sub this year. I've been fortunate, and I don't miss it. One of the few exceptions is working with your groups. Another earlier generation tuned me in to Toxic Audio. (Hey, Mr. Chris, you gotta' listen to this!" Then they placed their headphones over my ears. I ordered 2 CDs as soon as I got home.)
Anyway, these kids come and go, perhaps without ever realizing their capacity for touching lives and making a difference. I wanted you both to know how special they are to me and the way they've affected my life.
Best wishes to you both! I do an awful lot of arranging and orchestrating these days (more than my wife would like) - please let me know if I may ever be of service.

Chris
